From the first phone call with Tony, who encouraged me to compare with other companies on quality and guarantee, to the finished product, I can just say that the windows, the service and the professionalism is impossible to beat. The crew was friendly and professional and answered all our questions. Very hard workers. TONY, who we first spoke to was so professional and friendly. I checked 4 other window companies and Mtl Factory Direct was the best choice, guaranteeing the windows and the thermos glass longer than any of the others we called. The supervisor showed up to make sure all went well and to answer any questions.As for the windows.... WOW. So much more light comes in the house. Even the frames are beautiful. It has done us and the house so much good. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Ask for Tonyread more

Installed my front door today and I am very happy with the result. The sales person was courteous and very helpful in deciding the door style. The installers were very professional and punctual. Installation took about 3 hours as they said it would. No hassles what so ever. The whole process was extremely smooth. Price was very reasonable. Definitely would consider to do the windows next time. Highly recommend.read more

I'm happy with the new windows and with the service . Even in 3 years after installation one of the window's glass went foggy, I just call the company and got the service fairly quickly. I'm recommending this company to my friends and I might use them again.read more

Great initial quote by Sergey, he was the only one that actual brought a sample window panel to show us during the estimate. High quality products, fair prices and timely installation done by Max, he left the job site clean and took all the old stuff away. Customer service goes above and beyond, I will definitely do business with them again.read more

My parents had some of their windows replaced by this company. When the installation guy removed the old thermos, my parents noticed some mold on the frame. They asked him to give them time so they could clean the frames since he would not to it himself. Unfortunately he went ahead and installed all the thermos before they had time to clean all the frames. They feel he did his job in a rush , and are not happy with the service received. When I called the sale manager he just defended his guy and said that no cleaning was mentioned in the contract . The thermos replaced were not the kind of thermos one could slide and clean the frame themselves, they are fix and the frame can only be seen when the thermos are removed . It is common sense to me that the frame has to be clean and be free from any kind of dust/mold before installing new thermos. My parents are more comfortable in french and Alex assured me someone from the company would contact them to address this issue in french. More than 2 weeks have passed , and still no news from them. This company seems to be doing just the bare minimum. Will never deal with them again.read more

Despite a good job done the door, we faced the following issues:1. We sent them the dimensions of the patio door based on the quote we had received from another company and they provided a price. Tony came to measure the door and informed us that the door is not standard and re-did the quote with an extra charge of $400. When Max came for the final measurement, he informed us that it is a standard door and ultimately he was right. If we had not had the instinct to ask Max the measurements he took, we would have been overcharged for $400. (red flag!)2. After Max and his colleague completed the installation, he informed us that the alarm system is not to be re-connected by him. At no point (when Tony came to take the measurements, when Max came to take the measurements, before Max started the work), did any of them mention this important fact. The contract says that the alarm system has to be addressed by the client prior to installation. Does that mean that Max should have not started the installation, given the fact that we had removed our curtains, but not the alarm sensor? Is it not in a normal process to warn the client that you are removing something in their house that you will not be putting back on? Had we known this, we would have made an informed decision on how to go about this. We are finding ourselves with an extra cost of $150 to have the security company re-do the installation because of this miss-communication. So beware!read more

Hello Alex, just a small note of appreciation, Other than a longer delay than was originally anticipated... I would like to thank you and your team for an amazing job. Your team was polite and professional, they laid down protective cover on the floors and stairs and cleaned both the inside and outside of the house after they had finished installing our new master bedroom widow. It was a pleasure to deal with Alex and Factory Direct Montreal. Even though the installation was done on a day that was 93 degree heat and high humidity, the installers did a fantastic job!We are now into the winter with temperatures dropping well below zero and I'm amazed at the difference these new PVC windows have made! I'm able to keep the thermostats set lower and yet the house feels warmer - no drafts coming through and I'm starting to see lower Hydro Quebec power bills. Our experience with Factory direct Montreal is very disappointing. We got the whole house full of Windows and doors installed and the front door was not installed properly and it started to leak water into the basement and even though we proved it's their door that was not installed properly,they gave us many excuses and didn't want to do anything about it after we had paid over $14,000 for the installation.It's been over 2 months and it's still not done. Now their service guy Alex is out of the country and as per his text someone was supposed to come and no one has showed up. On top of that no one wants to answer the phone call and we are still waiting. We only went to them based on their reviews and it's a disaster. We have no way of getting our money back and we have spent another $1000 out of our pocket trying to fix it. They are cheap and they don't want to do anything. I looked online to find a window company and you never know what you will get. When I met with Peter (the owner) he was very honest and gave me more info than I needed. I had a good feeling! So we just got all of our windows done by these guys. 2 patio doors , a bay window added and they enlarged two of our existing windows. They did all of this in 3 days, they were punctual and SO kind. Peter the owner is a family man, true to his word and and knows what he is doing!!! They do not sub-contract, they do it all themselves! Their pricing was good also... I did some shopping around but even if I would have found less expensive elsewhere today, his work and service are worth more. Thanks again and we are so so so happy with the final result!read more

We are very satisfied with the product and service. I told my wife that I never feel that money is so worth spending. I replaced my windows in my previous house, it was a very bad experience. The window was thin and crappy. The installation was incorrect. So, I spent a lot of time to study the window and installation. Though I am traveling and haven't seen the window, my wife took pictures and communicated effectively when the service team installed the windows. In Montreal, to protect from the winter, a thick window is absolutely needed and should be sealed completely. That's exactly what I got from Factory Direct. Strongly recommend!!!read more

Decided to wait until after winter to leave a full review and all I can say is these windows are excellent, of the highest quality. Our heating bills were cut dramatically from the original 1940's windows in the house and the comfort levels now are amazing. The Low E glass also does a great job at keeping the summer heat out. Alex and his team are professional and courteous and I would highly recommend them.read more

Very unprofessional. We had all our windows replaced as well as the front door, garage door and patio door. The window above the front door is leaking water. The garage door does not close properly and many windows do not open or close correctly. We have tried numerous times in the past 6 months to get these repairs done. The salesman who sold us the products, Alex, does not return calls. The odd time that we did reach him, he said, I will call you back. We are still waiting. I would not recommend this company as they were very quick to collect but give no after sales service.read more

Had 9 windows and 2 patio doors installed in October. Decided to write this review now, in late December, so that I would be able to report on the efficiency of the windows and doors after some cold weather. Well, the verdict is in and I can say that they are very efficient so far. No draft, no cold radiating from the windows. Very happy to-date.The sales rep was easy to talk to and opened to negotiations. This was important to me. The work was completed in a day and half and there was absolutely no mess left behind. And I was very satisfied with the completed work.Prior to choosing Factory Direct, I did a lot of research, especially on the type of windows I wanted. After lots of consideration and data, I chose to go with PVC. The bottom line, of course, was budget. I went all the way with as many features as possible available to me and the final cost was still far less than comparable other products such as aluminum and fiber glass (with fewer features). Included in my purchase; triple glazed glass, built-in blinds in the doors, frosted glass for the bathroom windows and a decorative grill for the main windows.I do have some minor complaints though, in that; some of the larger windows which reside over a base board heater tend to make noise. I imagine this is due to the expansion and contraction of the PVC. The other is that; with the PVC framing, you get more frame than window. But, I've gotten used to them and they do look great.All in all, I recommend this company and their product.read more
