Very poor customer service and rude communication. The table we bought was damaged by them in the delivery process and they will not let us return it or compensate us in any way. The delivery process was also a mess with 2 failed attempts with us waiting at home the whole day each time and nobody notifying us that the delivery was not going to happen. I do not recommend dealing with Newell Furniture.read more

Worst customer experience ever! I am based in Toronto. I purchased online a sectional sofa (ALESIA Sectional Grey). Few days later, after various calls to inquire about the date of delivery of my items I received the wrong item which wasn't a sectional sofa at all. I called to explain that I received the wrong item and inquired about the immediate corrective actions to be taken. I received a call from a rather rude customer service manager who first denied any wrongdoing and who then contended that the right sofa has been sent but that one piece was missing. I have also been advised that the item I ordered was out of stock and that the only available option was to accept the sofa "as is" or return it and get reimbursed. I have also been told that the item would be picked up when their driver from Montreal is available and that no reimbursement will be processed till they receive the item at their warehouse . When I mentioned that this was not a reasonable option, I have been told that this was Newell policy. No other alternative was offered, the customer agent did not even apologise for the inconvenience and no compensation was even suggested. I lived in Paris, London and now Toronto and ordered online furnitures from various furnitures stores, I never encountered such unprofessionalism and poor customer service. Bought a table/desk and there weren't any instructions. Getting help was not easy and had to deal with someone who didnt communicate well in English, or French. Took manager a long time to respond to my queries. The people in the store are very friendly and helpful, but god forbid you have an issue with what you ordered. I would prefer to go to a higher end store, next time, like Mobilia, and Hudson Bay, where the customer service is really great and they handle issues, WHEN and if you have them.The store is in China town, in Montreal, not the best location. Showroom is a bit off. Make sure you go and see the items in person, and all of their products are copies of other items that you can really get cheaper at more established stores.read more

Unreliable and horrible customer service. We put a deposit down and ordered a coffee table from Newell Furniture while at the Toronto Home Show on March 20, 2016. We were initially promised delivery in May. This delivery got postponed 4 times to June, July and finally August. Each of those communications to inform us of the delays were initiated by me (the customer). We followed up in August and, after 4 months, they advised us to cancel the order and get a refund. It was constantly us (the customer) who had to call to follow up on the status of our order rather than Newell. They blamed the overseas manufacturer for the problem rather than take ownership of it themselves. I'm really disappointed by this experience. In addition to the table, we also asked the sales rep to provide us some information on some dining chairs following the show. That sales rep never got back to us. If other accounts are handled the same way as ours I don't know how this company will stay in business. If they go bankrupt, any deposits that customers leave with them will be lost.read more

I live in a condo in Toronto and the elevator booking rules are quite strict, so I had to order everything from the same store so that I only need to book the elevator once. Decided to buy from an online store since it's so much cheaper, but wasn't sure what to expect as this is my first time doing so. I estimated how the furniture would look like in my condo by putting paper cut to the furniture's size on my floor, and hoped for the best. The furniture came in about a week after ordering, and the delivery company called me in advance to confirm the date and set up a time. All in all really pleased, the quality is excellent (especially for the price!!) and my friends keep asking me where I bought them. One even said my place looks like a model condo! Two thumbs up - keep up the great work!read more
