My driveway went from being the ugliest on the street to the most beautiful because of Northstone. I had old unison that was cracked and falling apart previously done by another company. I heard such great things about Northstone from a few neighbours so I decided to give them a call. I was helped with the design and together Northstone and myself created a driveway that matched perfectly to my house. It looks great and added value to my property. I am very happy.read more

Northstone did an incredible job on my backyard last year. They worked with me to stay within my budget which made my husband very happy (let's just say I had been planning this on pinterest for awhile) and get everything on our wish list. We used Northstone to do over our whole back yard with Pave and Porch and Pergula in the summer of 2017... we paid up front and that was our mistake.That summer Northstone took on way too many projects and did a bad job using low grade wood and unfinished jobs. I know for a fact from some of their workers that they didn’t quite pay them for their overtime and holiday work either ....We called and were promised to be revisited to fix what was not operating ...Never happened.And when we called and called again we were Ignored Our porch is dangerous and our Pergola looks thirty years old Mostly painful is how our calls and texts were ignored when beforehand they were so eagerly sweet toward us to use themread more

During their busy season, Northstone still managed to make time to give back to the community. A local West Island non-profit preschool was in need of a yard clear up and Northstone took a day to do some beautiful landscaping, ensuring the children have a safer and bug free area to run around and play. Communication from the office was excellent and the promised timeline was kept. We even received a call a couple days prior to confirm!! From removing/ putting back the existing fence to access the area , to cutting overgrown branches, removing old tree stumps and pavers, spreading out wood chips- we can not thank you enough for your help!! Must read before you hire Northstone.Exactly 2 years ago I hired Northstone to renovate my backyard. The project was to install Pave stone on my entire backyard as well as build a very large pergola and a large deck. The final quote was over 70,000. My first mistake was to go with their financing option which they organize with Desjardin Credit card. The moment you sign the document , they get paid and you have no recourse , you can't withhold payment if they don't finish or do a bad job. So you are basically at their mercy. I was promised that is would take 3 weeks. 3 months later and this is what we got. We did make some changes which increased the price, however that was not the issue. The wood that they used for the pergola was 3 class wood, ( pictures enclosed) not finishing wood. That means, the wood is rough, cracked, not straight, look terrible. When I complained Matthew said, we will come change the crooked ones. ( still waiting). The wood used for the stairs was not made for stairs and is now cracking and breaking.The quality of the work is Shoddy. my deck is falling apart literally, and the because they miscalculated on the size and width of the wood, they needed to reinforce the pergola and it looks unprofessional.As part of the deal they were meant to install an awning and curtains, the quote was for $5850 for the awning. At the end of the project when I asked Matthew about the awning, he said the company went out of business. However when pressed ,he said I should call a company that he works with and they will install it. When I called the company, they quoted me $23,000. Mathew gave me credit for $5850 for something that I had to pay $23,000. Of course he didn't do the awning, because he mis quoted and wasn't man enough to say he made a mistake, so instead he just lied and said he can't do it.My irrigation system was uprooted and moved to a new location. So instead of bringing an irrigation specialist to make sure it's done well, he did a half a job and didn't do it properly. He left out an entire Zone of sprinklers and now it will cost me an extra $2000 to fix his blunder.Last summer my son posted a bad review and Matthew begged him to take it down promising he will come and fix it. He never came. So if you are reading this, please beware. I've spoken to some of the contractors that he hired to work on my job and they all said that in some way or another Northstone did them in and they no longer work with them.So in short, Unprofessional in their dealing, very low quality work, not on time, no recourse, no response to calls to come and fix their mess ups.Feel free to message me to get the full story, there is much more.read more
